About

Built by an estimator, for estimators.

Why I built PipeTakeoff

I spent years doing material take-offs by hand. The work was the same every time: open a PDF, count fittings, type rows into Excel, double-check schedules, and pass the BOM to a buyer. The drawings always changed. The Excel always rotted. The error-prone hours were the parts a senior estimator wanted to be doing least.

PipeTakeoff.com is the tool I wish I had. Upload the iso, get a reviewed BOM in two minutes, export to the format your buyer expects. The estimator stays in the loop — the AI never commits on its own — but the typing goes away.

Who it's for

Mid-size piping contractors. Five to fifty estimators per shop. Process industries — chemical, refining, power, water. The kind of contractor that runs on AutoCAD prints and a shared Excel folder, where a Friday quote depends on the senior estimator finishing five drawings before five o'clock.

Where it's going

v1 is the take-off loop: iso PDF in, reviewed BOM out, aggregated rollup across the project, export. v2 layers RFQ (send the BOM to vendors, normalize quotes back). v2.5 opens a vendor portal so suppliers self-serve. v3 reaches upstream into the CAD tool so the BOM lives next to the drawing instead of being re-derived from it.
